2017 TAX LAW CHANGES: Beginning in 2017 the medical expense threshold will increase to 10% of adjusted gross income for taxpayers 65 and over (it's currently 7.5%). Seniors who think they will exceed or get close to this year's 7.5% threshold (and be able to itemize) should consider getting and paying for elective health procedures before year-end.
